Flu-Fighter Sunshine Smoothie

Change of seasons in New England typically means the air is full of many foreign substances including the dreaded flu. As luck would have it, I unfortunately caught the flu this past weekend and was out of commission for about two full days - yuck! Fever, chills, body aches and loss of appetite were many of the symptoms I had. As a result, I forced myself to stay in bed (for those of you that know me this is hard to do since I am a busy body!) and gave my body what it needed to heal - rest, relaxation, water and nutrients. Speaking of nutrients … I immediately opened one of my favorite cookbooks, “The Oh She Glows Cookbook” by Angela Liddon for nutrient rich recipes that I knew my body desperately needed to help fend off whatever was inside me.

I came across Angela’s Flu-Fighter Sunshine Smoothie and just the name alone sold me! The next day, I left the house (my first time in 3 days), bought the ingredients, and had this delicious antioxidant-packed juice flowing through my body. This smoothie was the best of both worlds - nutritious and delicious - and helped me get back to full strength using natural remedies. Whether your immune system needs a little extra love, or your in the mood for a citrus blast, this recipe is the one for you.

Cheers!

Love, Abby

PS: Thank you to my dear Vegan friend, Meaghan for this cookbook. Everytime I open it up I think of her!
